J. Hazen, the writer, director, and producer of the military audio drama 'Queen of Battle,' hails originally from Los Angeles. A former stage actor, he has since transitioned to voice acting and writing. Hazen, who is also a US veteran with 13 years of service, now resides in the peaceful Ozarks with his family.
Embarking on the 'Queen of Battle' project was a remarkable adventure. Teaming up with incredibly gifted individuals, I significantly expanded my editing and engineering skills. At the same time, it was a grounding and healing process, where I drew upon my own experiences from my time in the military to shape this story.
For submission: I have given excerpts from episodes 1 and 5 of the show.
Queen of Battle synopsis: In a groundbreaking program, six women volunteer for the grueling Infantry training. Forged into a tight-knit unit, they deploy to a warzone facing a skeptical leader, a glory-hungry reporter, and the constant threat of battle. Can they overcome personal demons and prove their courage?
