Quadratura
Angela finds herself in a mysterious place where a stranger takes her on a journey of memories and emotions. She goes through the five stages of grief while visiting five stages of her life before she is able to learn and accept what has happened to her.
'Quadratura' is an experimental short film about visiting your life's memories and lessons before ending this life and starting another. Filled with riddles, metaphors, poetry, dance and colour, 'Quadratura' is a unique painting of a girl's tragic yet beautiful story.

Ilze is a young film director. She is passionate about storytelling and unconventional film-making, and her films concentrate on human lives, personalities, emotions and dreams. She expresses her vision in small details, such as props, colour, shot design and audio, and she likes to fill her films with hidden meanings and metaphors.
Ilze has been learning filmmaking for many years, has worked on multiple short films, and is currently working on more projects as director, writer and editor. 'Quadratura' is her third film, following the festival selected 'Bus Stop' (2018) and 'Promise' (2018).
'Quadratura' is the most special project I've had the chance to work on so far. The idea came to me three years ago, when in my mind it was just a short story with two characters in one location. However, with the help of the writer Ryan, producer Carl and the rest of the talented crew & cast, 'Quadratura' grew and became something so much bigger than I ever expected. At its core, 'Quadratura' is a simple story about love, loss and life, and I hope that the viewers enjoy this little journey of colours, emotions and poetic film-making.
