Quinte West, Ontario
The Quinte Canadian Film Festival is located in Trenton, within the City of Quinte West. Trenton was the home of Canada’s first, and for a time, only movie studio.
Between 1917 and 1934, the studio made more than 1,500 silent films. One of those films, a First World War drama called ....Carry On, Sergeant! drew critical acclaim at the time and solidified the studio as the Hollywood of the North.
Locally our film roots run deep and this festival is brought to you by filmmakers...for filmmakers...
We are accepting short film submissions of 15 minutes or less in any genre .. Animated, LGBTQ, documentary, Drama etc...
This is the first year we are accepting short film submissions in our 4 year history. The selected films will screen during either a dedicated block of short Canadian films, or as a pre roll prior to a feature film (will depend on length and committee decision).
We are dedicated to discovering and supporting veteran and the next generation of filmmakers.
The annual Quinte Canadian Film Festival will screen curated features and submitted shorts for 3 days in the spectacular setting of the Bay of Quinte region, Ontario. It will take place on Friday through Sunday October 16 – 18 , 2020.
QCFF captures the imagination of audiences and contributes to the vitality of Canadian film culture by providing emerging filmmakers with an opportunity to show their latest work in a vibrant and nurturing atmosphere. Visitors are drawn to the area to experience exciting new films by both new and established independent artists, and for the opportunity to mingle with them at fun and friendly Friday Gala and Saturday Panel discussion and film maker mixer.
We are committed to promoting film as an art form by focusing on personal, innovative, imaginative films by Filmmakers, writers and directors with a unique style and point of view.
