Director Statement

All of my life I’ve had questions about freedom; freedom of will, freedom of individuals, and the ways in which our psychology is built to adapt to its surroundings. As the product of divorced parents, growing up I saw my parents while they were single individuals and while they were in relationships. I observed as they contorted their personalities, lives, and changed with the come of
each new person, job, location. I wanted to make a film about that. To translate the idea to cinema was about making the distortions of our psyche into distortions of the body as well. To me, Pursuit Of A Jigsaw is equal parts satire as it is surrealism and horror. Despite the film's cold and psychological notes, I find the film hilarious. The things that make you want to laugh also make you want to weep.
