Pulling Out: Life, Love, and College in a War Zone

A half-hour television series that takes place in an Education Center on a military base in a war zone. Cast of characters includes civilan employees (contractors and government) and soldiers. The series will focus on the day to day operations of the Education Center itself, and the uncertainty faced by soldiers and civilians as they are being told that the US Military is pulling out.

Writer Biography - Ruth Cuevas

Ruth Cuevas holds a B.A. in Spanish from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a M.A. in History with an emphasis in Latin American Social and Public Policy from the University of Pittsburgh. Ruth is a first generation immigrant of Guatemalan heritage and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Originally from Los Angeles, she currently lives in Germany and teaches both Spanish and History courses at the university level. Ruth also volunteers as a yoga instructor for service members and their families.

Ruth continues to travel, and is a contributing writer for the luxury lifestyle magazine, A Taste of Dawn. Additionally, she maintains a travel blog about her motorcycle tours through Europe on her website, My Motorcycle Diaries.

I’ve always heard to “write what you know.” This series was inspired by that quote after spending 18 months in the desert and scratching my head at all the non-sense I saw.
