Psycho Act

Tiziano Giaccone was born in Rome on 27 February 1996. During his childhood he received a fluctuating education due to long hospital stays necessitated by a rare disease. In these periods, forced to bed, he will spend a lot of time immersed in reading and watching all kinds of films. This gave life to a real passion for cinema and a sense of gratitude towards the whole art that helped him to survive in the most difficult moments. That’s why, growing up, he decides to become a director. He attended the Istituto per la Cinematografia e la Televisione R. Rossellini in Rome and in 2013, after obtaining his professional diploma, he started working as a freelance editor at the age of 17. The following year, despite having shot other small things before, he made the work he considers his first short film: 'Broken Spirits', a name with which he baptized, a few years later, his independent production.
Written with his future wife and made without any budget with the technical help of his older brother, some friends and former high school buddies, Broken Spirits passes several selections and manages to win a prize for best film at the festival 'Viva la Periferia' 2017 and several screenings to the public.

2015 is the year of 'Butterfly Requiem', another short film that will only be published online for a short time.

From 2019 to 2021 he participated with his Broken Spirits Production in three editions of the 48 Hour Film Project as director, screenwriter and editor. The short film 'Choose' gets a nomination for best sound design, the next 'The Goldfish' receives three nominations: best editing, best actress and best makeup, as well as a mention for best film, while 'Ya'aburnee' wins the award for best makeup.

In 2020, during the lockdown Covid19, he started an animation project with the technique of the rotoscope from filmings made with a mobile phone by an actress directed in a remote way, due to several lockdowns in the city. The work is in the final stages of post-production, its title is 'Serial Killer'.

At the same time he continues his career as an editor with a two-year detour in advertising and the return to cinema with the signing of the first feature films (still unpublished).

In 2022 he made two new short films, following their direction, screenplay and editing: 'Psycho Act' and 'Love Act', both currently unpublished and registered for several festivals. The two works are part of a larger project still under construction.

Durante la sua infanzia ha ricevuto un’istruzione altalenante a causa di lunghe degenze in ospedale rese necessarie da una malattia rara. In questi periodi, obbligato a letto, trascorrerà molto tempo immerso nella lettura e nella visione di ogni genere di film. Nasce così una vera passione per il cinema e un senso di gratitudine verso l’arte tutta che lo ha aiutato a sopravvivere nei momenti più difficili. Per questo, crescendo, decide di diventare un regista.

Frequenta l’Istituto per la Cinematografia e la Televisione R. Rossellini a Roma e nel 2013, conseguito il diploma professionale, ancora diciassettenne inizia a lavorare come montatore freelance.
L’anno successivo, nonostante avesse girato prima altre piccole cose, realizza l’opera che considera il suo primo cortometraggio: ‘Broken Spirits’, nome col quale poi battezzerà, alcuni anni dopo, la sua casa di produzione indipendente. Scritto insieme alla sua futura moglie e realizzato senza alcun budget con il fratello maggiore e alcuni amici ed ex compagni di liceo, Broken Spirits supera diverse selezioni e riesce ad aggiudicarsi un premio come miglior film al festival ‘È Viva la Periferia’ e diverse proiezioni al pubblico.

Il 2015 è l’anno di ‘Butterfly Requiem’, un altro cortometraggio che verrà pubblicato unicamente online per un breve periodo.

Dal 2019 al 2021 partecipa con la sua Broken Spirits Production a tre edizioni del 48 Hour Film Project in veste di regista, sceneggiatore e montatore. Il cortometraggio ‘Scegli’ ottiene una nomination per il miglior sound design, il successivo ‘Il Pesce Rosso’ riceve tre nomination: miglior montaggio, miglior attrice e miglior trucco, oltre a una menzione come miglior film, mentre ‘Ya’aburnee’ vince il premio al miglior trucco.

Nel 2020, durante il lockdown Covid19, avvia un progetto di animazione con la tecnica del rotoscope a partire da filmati realizzati con un cellulare da un’attrice diretta a distanza. L’opera è nelle fasi finali di post-produzione, si intitola ‘Serial Killer’.

Parallelamente prosegue anche la sua carriera come montatore con una deviazione di due anni in ambito pubblicitario e il ritorno al cinema con la firma dei primi lungometraggi (ancora inediti).

Nel 2022 realizza due nuovi cortometraggi seguendone regia, sceneggiatura e montaggio: ‘Psycho Act’ e ‘Love Act’, attualmente entrambi inediti e iscritti a diversi festival. Le due opere fanno parte di un progetto più ampio ancora in fase di realizzazione.
