Director Statement

This film shares the life of Lori Lozano, a queer, chicana barber living in Austin, Texas. She has cut my hair for five years. Lori has a magnanimous, larger-than-life charisma that drew me in like so many other customers. Beneath that outward presentation, she is a struggling business owner, someone living with a harrowing medical diagnosis and no insurance, someone digging deep to understand her native heritage and her identity. I hope this film leaves you wanting more!
