Prophet
‘Prophet’ is a part of the music video series entitled ‘Prophet Trilogy’. The video series depicts three different states of mind, or masks so to say, which we present to other people: one for the whole world, another for loved ones and a third only for oneself.
In the first part of the series – ‘Prophet’ - the Prophetess wakes up in the desert - she is alone and awkward she doesn't understand what’s happening around her. She is just learning about the laws that define the world. She tries to fit in with the people around her, but they just ignore her. It is only the Judas kiss that awakens them from their trance and they begin to take an interest in the Prophetess…
In the words of the director, Maria Brachmańska (aka Brigit Störm): ‘it's just a symbolic representation of how trying to fit in at all costs and putting on a mask to hide your true self becomes destructive. That’s the problem with the first heart – the heart for the world to see’.

Brigit Störm is a singer, songwriter and director of short films. Living both in Austria and Poland offers her new viewpoints, distancing her from the routine aspects of everyday life and making her projects fresh and original. Her affinity for cinematography and other art forms also has an undeniable impact on her musical projects. Usually, even during the music writing stage, she composes with photos or chimeric scenes in mind, as if her compositions were soundtracks to non-existent films. From unusual make-up to enigmatic videos, Brigit manages to create a consistent visual experience that serves to blur the boundaries between the music and the artist herself. It is also no different with ‘Prophet’, as the album is combined with a series of three music videos entitled ‘Prophet Trilogy’, presenting the fate of the eponymous Prophet.
I wrote Prophet, the whole album, when I was 18 and totally unsure about my future. I was about to move out from my family house, to another country and all I’ve heard around me was bad, depressing news and I thought that the world was gonna end, no matter how hard I try to fight. So I came up with this brilliant idea of becoming a prophet, somebody who could tell their own fortune and make the best decisions. I wrote a bunch of songs and I’ve realised that being a prophet may not be as great as it sounds, because the future is not always promising and people don’t want to hear that and they would probably throw me out of town anyways. And I liked this idea even more, because it expressed the complex problem of feeling misunderstood as a young person and being patronized by people who think they have all the answers. There is some kind of non-conformism attached to the prophecy that attracts me, and that is what I wanted it to feel in music videos, whatever the concept would be.
