Director Statement

Promenade is a product of my passion for science fiction, as well as an exploration of short-form filmmaking. My co-writer, Miles Bitton, and I set out to create a slice-of-life, grounded story set in an otherworldly environment. To create this film for my Masters degree at UCLA’s Animation Workshop, I learned to use industry-standard animation software front-to-back. This was the longest film I have produced as the sole animator. I hired the talented Ethan Shevin and Eric Huang to design the film’s sound and compose its score, respectively. Their contributions were crucial in helping me tell an immersive and emotional story without the use of words.
