Prisoner of Hope
Three stories of displacement and hope intertwine in this moving, true rendition of seeking asylum in the UK.
Too often, the media talks about people who have been displaced, without talking to them. This film follows three previously untold true stories of displacement and hope, from voices of people in the Conversation Over Borders community.
From exploring forced migration due to gender-based violence in Bangladesh, to the contemporary plight of people standing against the government from Uganda, to art as an expression of freedom and resistance in Iran, the geographical range of voices and experiences shows that there is no universal experience of displacement and how arbitrary the categories of ‘refugee’ and ‘asylum seeker’ really are.
