Princess Sofia Loves Chicken
Once upon a time, there was a village on the Swahili coast cursed by sea monsters: singing is now forbidden.
One day, the new Sultan of the village wants his daughter, the beautiful Princess Sofia, to perform on stage for the annual festival. But Sofia is a dreamy girl...
This swahili tale has been created and performed by children of Bagamoyo, in Tanzania, during movie workshops organised by Kipepeo Films.

Originally from Manosque, in France, Ella PRIVET studied English literature and poetry before achieving a master's degree in documentary filmmaking. In 2012, she directed "Air-Bel", her first documentary, about children from a Marseille housing estate who meet every Wednesday afternoon to paint together, next to a villa where surrealist artists such as André Breton and Max Ernst had taken refuge during the Second World War.
She now lives in Canada where she continues to practice a cinema art that links her two passions: poetry and documentary.
Once she had her master's degree in documentary filmmaking, Clotilde Bertet spent several years traveling to the African continent and the Middle East to produce reports and documentaries for embassies, international organizations and United Nations agencies.
In parallel, she develops creative documentaries that are close to her heart: she seeks through cinema to tell the human through its differences and especially similarities.
She also created in 2016 the association KIPEPEO FILMS which uses art and mainly cinema as a tool for awareness and development. Some of the workshop short films have had a good critical reception in international festivals (Zawadi).
