It still makes me feel uneasy to think that many cultures see homosexuality as a sign of impurity, illness or even being less than human. I was raised in a predominantly Catholic community and these sorts of definitions were frequently asserted not just by members of the church but even by those closest to me. I created this animation to demonstrate the absurdities of conversion therapy techniques and to more so be directed towards the straight majority of society. Through a dream-like Mid century lens advertising poorly crafted gadgets and devices held together by duct tape, wood boards and prayers a visual style that would best take the piss out of this outrageous practise.
