Ashante P.T. Stokes is an American rhythm and gospel artist, director, writer, producer and performer. He made his directorial debut with 2015 music mini-film, Salvation RMX, at the Gwinnett Center International Film Festival where the film received the Audience Choice Award.
"People interpret film based on their life experiences. I made several live action films prior to Praise the Maker, my first animation project. My goal on any of my projects is to create something that works on multiple levels. Hopefully, it will evoke emotional meanings for the audience that synchronize with their individual life experiences.
"In creating 'Praise the Maker', we strove to provide universal themes of man finding his place in the cosmos and exploring the pairing of music with a faith experience. While our voice actors, animator and editor were US-based, in the run-up to produce the project we did a global search for an animator including our discussions with a South African group. And we sought and received guidance from a French rendering group, knowing this was our first foray in the medium.
" I believe thematically, 'Praise the Maker' encompasses positive messaging. The audience can take from it what they like and discard the rest."
