The Prairie Lights Film Festival was a film showcase dedicated to Nebraska made films and Nebraska filmmakers. It recently just finished its 7th and final year. We thank all of the people who supported us over the years. Go make a movie!

Non competitive. We don't believe in pitting filmmakers against each other. Our festival is just a showcase and it is our intention to put as many films as we can on a historic big screen and bring the magic of the movies to low budget filmmakers.

Note: WE DO NOT ACCEPT FOREIGN FILMS! Submissions MUST be by Nebraska filmmakers or made in the state of Nebraska. This film festival is dedicated to films from Nebraska. Please provide information regarding how your film relates to Nebraska. Without it, your film will be disqualified.

The Prairie Lights Film Festival accepts any and all films, be they short films, music videos, feature lengths, art, comedy, horror, and everything in between. We put no restrictions on content. However, this is a festival devoted to Nebraska made films and/or Nebraska born filmmakers. Only films created by Nebraska filmmakers (be they in state or out of state) will be considered.

I appreciated my Outlaw Trail video of being screened at the festival. Met lots of nice people, too bad such a small crowd for so many good films.

  • I have film students involved in this Festival. Beautiful venue. Awesome little town with great kitschy restaurants. So, much fun. This should be part of your festival circuit if you are from NE, SD, or IA.
