Motel Picture Company is a disruptor. Founded by Sophie Georgiou and Stef Mileski, they create unique films on and with leading international and Australian artists and institutions including Art Gallery NSW, National Gallery of Victoria, Sydney Modern, Carriageworks, Powerhouse Museum, Sydney Opera House and Kukje in South Korea just to name a few.
Artists include Ai Wei Wei, Takashi Murakami, Issac Julian, Oliver Beer, Charlie Tsai, Bill Henson, Blak Douglas, Del Kathryn Barton and the late Nyapanyapa Yunpiny.
They also work closely with Australian fashion houses and designers including Romane Was Born, Jordan Gogos, Dion Lee and most recently with Zampatti for the exhibition on Carla Zampatti at the Powerhouse.
Motel have an on going relationship with the Biennale of Sydney working with both Mami Kataoka and Jose Roca on the last two Biennales as well as continuing an ongoing strategic partnership for the 2024 Biennale, created Three Women Arrive for SHOW studio and works with Conservation International, recently completing a film with cinematographer Chris Bryan narrated by Jason Momoa.
