Postcards from Italy
A modular performance that intertwines memories of Italy with expanded cinema, contemporary and traditional music.
The performance combines screenings of archival films of early 20th-century Italy with contemporary field recordings made during a journey to the same locations nowadays, using video mapping to create an immersive experience.
Postcards from Italy is an invitation to rediscover an intimate beauty amid the hustle and bustle of tourists in Italian cities, to recall Italy's social and political history, accompanied by sounds, melodies, and the passage of time, images, and water.

The Duo Bottasso, alias the curious musician brothers Simone and Nicolò, explores various art forms and musical styles throughout their twenty-year career. Their contemporary approach to traditional music blends original compositions, improvisation, and electronic elements. By infusing their alpine roots into innovative works, they create a utopian 21st-century folk music with enchanting melodies and avant-garde experimentation.
Duo Bottasso is an ensemble operating in the field of music and multidisciplinary works. Their roots into Italian traditional music are an important element of their artistic expression, but what is most striking is their ability to mix those influences with contemporary languages and artistic expressions.
Avoiding putting labels on their work, Duo Bottasso likes to cross boundaries and stereotypes, looking each time for the best way to express emotions and tell stories with their performance.
Being brothers in music allows them to work within a very intuitive and a maximum trust environment. They are ready to reinvent themselves in order to connect with different forms of arts and, no less importantly, to the human beings beyond those arts.
