Jessie Kirby is an Irish horror and comedy writer/director who has been making waves in the film industry with her unique blend of scares and laughs. Born and raised in Ireland, Jessie discovered her passion for film at a young age and decided to pursue it as a career.

After completing her studies in film at Bournemouth University, Jessie returned to Ireland to begin her career in the film industry. She quickly made a name for herself with her first film, "Nadir," which was praised for its inventive storytelling and dark humor.

Since then, Jessie has directed and written several other films, including "The Hidden," "Insatiable," and "For Summer." Her films are known for their combination of horror and comedy, which has earned her a loyal following among fans of both genres.

In addition to her writing and directing skills, Jessie is also trained in film editing, lighting, sound, and camera operation. This allows her to have a hands-on approach to her films and ensure that every aspect is perfect.

Poor Pups is a short film that explores the unbreakable bond between humans and their furry companions. Set in a pre-apocalyptic world where social media misinformation runs rampant, we follow our protagonist as she navigates the challenges of maintaining her crunchy lifestyle on a budget and the love of her Pups.

Drawing inspiration from Tik Tok, The Handmaid's Tale, and the current state of our society, Poor Pups is a darkly humorous take on the beginning of the end of the world. As a filmmaker, I wanted to use this film to shed light on the ways that our society is failing our furry friends, and the lengths that we will go to protect them.

So, sit back, grab your pup, and enjoy Poor Pups – the film that will have you laughing, crying, and hugging your furry friend a little bit tighter.
