Poem 13

What made this possible? The Sea. The Encounter. The Convergence. Taking shape against all improbability. As beautiful and tragic as life: we all know how it ends. Absolute Silence, Emptiness. The sand, washed by the tides of time, loses all trace, events are undone. Footsteps are lost. Will a trace of their existence ever remain?

We coexist, but connect only briefly, during elliptical moments of time in which all forms fuse, become concealed, and energy and vibration unfold. It is in this liminal space of time, between rationality and irrationality, where fulfilment resides.

Encounters, missed encounters, to see each other without losing conscience, fully alive. A fleeting moment. I cannot accept this evanescence: millions of years of evolution flashed into seconds. Find me by the shore, hold me.

Wondering if transformation is possible
I yearn for gills
for I know the ending:
drowning
desolation
