Poe Films, a division of Poe Film Festival, LLC, is proud to announce the opening of our second annual suspense and mystery screenwriting competition, The Poe Contest! Features and shorts of all genres are welcome. To our writers, we dare you to stun us with your creative voice and keep us on the edge of our seats as Edgar Allan Poe thrilled readers in his time.
Last year's feature winner, "The Odds" by Bob Giordano, touts his Poe Contest laurels in his film production. The official trailer for "The Odds" can be found on our website. In addition, our shorts winner, "I'll Have Another" by Bill Brock, has been produced to rave film festival reviews.
Poe Films is excited to team once again with FilmFreeway and other film marketing companies to give our writers a pathway to film production like our 2017 winners.
In this new competition, we offer something greater. Writers will have the chance to be honored and celebrated with their peers and industry professionals at the 2018 Poe Film Festival in Richmond -- with a party that Poe could only dream of!
Check out our website, PoeFilmFestival.com, our Facebook (PoeContest) page and our Twitter account @PoeContest for up-to-date contest news. And be sure to submit your most suspenseful, mysterious, thrilling, romantic, heart-pounding, comedic, dramatic, and/or fantastic feature or short script.
Win at Poe and languish nevermore.
