Petter Aaberg is born and raised in Oslo, Norway. He graduated from Nordland Collage of Art and Film in 2017. While exploring he has found a voice through the documentary genre and the spontaneous exploration of human interactions.
In the beginning of his studies he did different fiction projects where he didn't succeed in expressing the emotions he wanted to. Petter is struggling with concentration issues and he thinks it's hard to sitt still for a long time and write scripts with a fixed narrative. Therefore he started to spontaneously bring his camera out to film situations, interactions and relations between people. After filming teambuilding-seminars, youth parties, and school classes he startet to feel that he managed to capture important and emotional moments.
Today his main focus is to tell the stories about the "outsiders" of the society.
In 2015 I was studying in Loften, Northern Norway at a film school. At that time I was struggling with psychological issues. I wanted to get to know one of the many free spirited souls traveling to Lofoten. My plan was to get some new perspectives on life, that could help me with my struggles, and to document the process. I met Ales Milos from Czech Rebublic.
Milos had a life philosophy that you should not use money in the society but rather give each other gifts, unconditionally. I was very inspired by his way of living, but as I got to know him better I started asking myself if he really was as openminded as he wanted to be. As I got closer to the answer of that question, the documentary project completely changed it's course.
