Playas de Tijuana Mural Project Documentary

The Playas de Tijuana Mural Project Documentary (2019) intends to show the artistic process in how the mural came to life. The first part of the documentary presents a surreal landscape of the U.S.-Mexico border wall on the Tijuana and Playas de Tijuana section. With clips of media coverage and the mural installation at the border, the visuals along with the music track speak on the effects of life as an immigrant in the U.S. and the effects of deportation on childhood arrivals. The documentary focuses on the artistic engagement by community narrators of the Humanizing Deportation archive and community partners. This section intends to highlight the unethical treatment of deported childhood arrivals who now live in Mexico after making a life in the U.S.
