Life has a story to tell, and Rebekah loves capturing it on film. She is an emerging filmmaker from Dallas, Texas who is drawn to the real, raw, and hidden experiences of humanity.
I wrote, directed, and edited Planet Rosie after being inspired by children playing in the suburbs one day. I thought about how much is buried within the monotony of cookie-cutter American life, and imagined a little girl who wanted to escape to another planet. Many of us are wrestling with questions about the meaning of life - especially children in abusive homes and women trying to decide whether or not to bring a new life into the world. This was my way of comparing those two stories and revealing their similarities.
