Director Biography - Hugo Lopes

Hugo Lopes (b. 1998, Cape Verde) holds a BSc Hons in Architecture, UWE Bristol 2019. He has worked has a chef for FED 303, Bristol; worked has an intern in architecture offices in Portugal (Aires Mateus), India (Case Design) and Cape Verde (Atelier Mar); produced a research-project as a Fellow in the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennal; and participated in a number of workshops (Canal 180, Assemble Studio, Tate Exchange, Porto School of Architecture). His work ranges from architecture projects, installations and documentary/experimental film.

'Pintód' first started as a way to document the transformation of a building, but soon after we realised that in reality it was about the people participating in the construction process and the relationships and interactions between them.
