Writer Biography - MIRIAM S Russell

I’m an “emerging scriptwriter” now, after retiring from a long career in teaching. After competing in the Miss America Pagaent, I returned to college and began my teaching career. When I became a widow, I obtained a doctorate in education, a goal I earlier eschewed in favor of my marriage, which produced two sons, grown when their father died suddenly. For me, widowhood came with a number of odd dates and relationships as well as international travel with a choral group. In fact, as my life after death evolved, coping with becoming single provided much fodder for strange and peculiar memoir stories which I published altogether as "Suddenly Single: Life After Death" in 2017.

Writer Statement

One memoir reader wrote in LIFE AFTER DEATH: BY Miriam Russell: "This would make a great TV Drama." Another wrote: You will cry and you will laugh." I agreed and wrote this script based on these experiences.
