Pills
"Pills" talks about contemporary neuroses and the abuse of psychiatric medication to face the pressures of the society. The character faces a moment of break down while listening to the music to escape from the reality. The film is an optical experiment, using only analogical interferences made on camera.

As music video director, he has been nominated twice to VMB Brasil for best independent music video and best music video of the year. Mayara studied communications in Brazil and Cinema in the United States, where she wrote and directed the short film "Not So Quiet World" which was selected to the AMFM Film Festival in California in 2013. She mainly works as local producer for international filming in Brazil, working alongside several international production companies.
We chose to use an optical and analogical technique during filming to translate the anguish of living in a mental breakdown and facing the pressures of the big city. The interferences of the car and city lights were thought to compose the aesthetics and rhythm of the music in the image, delivering authentic effects and transitions.
