Welcome to the Prague International Indie Film Festival !!!
We are aiming to discover independent projects from all genres and all countries, helping them be represented in the global film industry beyond the level of experience of the filmmakers.
Piif is an event with an Annual Gala, Screening and Award Ceremony in the emblematic Edison Filmhub, home of indie filmmakers located in the hippest neighboorhood of the charming city of Prague.
We received hundreds of e-mails from interested filmmakers all around the world like you, who are striving to participate in an international festival that gives them the possibility to meet people from the industry, actors, directors, producers, and distributors all under one setting. This festival is about networking and contacting people.
Piif festival is based in Prague. Our Jury will select the best of each Quarterly Festival (4 seasons) and choose the winners who will automatically qualify for the Annual Gala held at Edison Filmhub on the 19th of September 2020. All the films will be reviewed and scored by our experienced Jury from all around the world including France, United Kingdom, United States, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, the Czech Republic, and Iran.
All the winners are invited to the Annual Event on the 19th of September 2020. Tickets are on sale now on our website. During the event, participants will enjoy 2 blocks of screenings with Q&A with directors, cast and crew, networking events, and be prepared for walking and photo shooting in the red carpet. Before the award ceremony, all guests will enjoy a champagne cocktail and hors d’oeuvre, making this an incredible opportunity for networking and meeting people with whom you might work in the future.
All the quarterly winners as well as all the honorable mentions will be announced on our website, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. A press release will be sent to the winners to help them promote and distribute their films. Piif is an important network for new filmmakers. Filmmakers will have the opportunity to publish the film poster, synopsis, stills, and trailers on our website and other social media.
We want to promote and support new independent filmmakers providing them the best opportunities to meet people, make contacts as well as being recognized with awards for their talent. We strive on and are keen to showcase your film to new audiences.
We are aiming to watch and review your projects and help you promote and find a space for your creativity within the film industry.
Each quarterly year edition our judges will select the winners and honorable mentions from the following categories. In order to apply to any additional categories, the film must be submitted into a major category (best short, best foreign short, best documentary short, best animation short, best experimental short, best student short).

Our goal is to award the best films from independent filmmakers after an evaluation of the creativity, storytelling, cinematography, pacing, performances, direction, structure, sound and the general quality of the film. The highest-rated films will be selected, nominees and winners of each season.
All films selected in each quarterly edition of PIIF will receive the official laurel and an achievement certificate. Winners of the Annual Gala Awards will receive the PIIF Trophy in addition to the laurel and certificate.
1- In order to submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
2- Films must 2018 or newer to qualify for the Festival.
3-Any Foreign film that is not in English must have English subtitles.
4- All fees are non-refundable
5- PIIF will not be responsible for damaged copies
6- A DCP copy of the film is required for the annual gala screening
7- Students must present a valid Student ID in order to receive our student discount.
8- Not all the submissions are selected for the official competition. Our Judges are free to make their own choices and no answers will be given about not selected films.
9- PIIF can consider any film to be disqualified if the festival considers the content inappropriate. If you have any question regarding this decision you might contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
10- Filmmakers can submit the film in multiple categories in order to become a multi-award film. Our Team may suggest the categories that are more suitable for the film to apply. Still, the decision about the selection is strictly determined by our judges' team and no selection is guaranteed.
11- A fee is required for the main category submission and also fees for additional categories. For payment structure visit (FilmFreeway website).
12-The applicants (submitters) must accept PIIF Rules and Terms.
13- All submissions in personal categories required the name of the person and the category. You can easily send us this information in the cover letter at FilmFreeway website.
14- Submitting your movie, you authorize PIIF to use, distribute and share the film poster, trailer, synopsis and movie stills in our social media.
15- Maximum length allowed is 40 minutes.
