Pied-à-terre

When Florence receives a letter from her lover, Agnes, she tries to process its contents in a way that only her subconscious can help her. As she reads on, the lines between her conscious and subconscious mind start to blur until she finds it almost impossible to tell them apart.

Director Statement

Pied-à-terre is my MFA (Master of Fine Arts) thesis film at Concordia University, Montréal, Canada. Pied-à-terre is also the culmination of my personal and professional learning experiences over the past 3 years. In Pied-à-terre, I am able to pull from events that unfolded in my own life and I am also able to show my evolution as an artist over the period I have been living in Montréal, Canada. Pied-à-terre also pulls from my academic research journey at Concordia university including my research work on loss and African queer sexuality.
