Photo with a dictator

Short observational documentary movie follows a group of tourists to the Stalin Museum in Gori.
The biggest attraction in the Georgian city of Gori is still the Stalin Museum. Buses of tourists from all over the world arrive daily, for whom it is a mandatory stop. They happily take pictures with one of the biggest criminals in modern history.
Why are they doing it? Could you imagine people taking pictures with Hitler statue?

Director Biography - Andrea Kalinová

Andrea Kalinová studied photography and new media at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia. Her graduation film “The Secret of One Swimming Pool” (25', 2006) is a mockumentary exploring the never finished swimming pool above the tram tunnel in Bratislava.
Her next documentary movie “Off Season” (35', 2018) focuses on the phenomenon of an extraordinary building - abandoned sanatorium Machnáč through people who have not yet given up the fight to save it.
Andrea Kalinová was part of Caucasus Cinema 2023, where she did several short movies: Photo with a dictator (6'42''), Mozaika (with Valerie Korolova (9'), Winter is going, passing away (5'33''), Last inhabitants from Friendship Sanatorium (5'27'').
