My name is Shannon Miller. I'm a recent graduate from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Film. I've been making my own short films since I was thirteen years old and have always had a strong passion for storytelling. I love writing, animating, and crafting my own stop motion puppets. My paper animated short Rose and Tulip was awarded Best College Animation by the Count Basie Film festival, and my live action short Haunting Heather was screened at the Garden State Film Festival.
Fantasy has always been a major source of inspiration for me. My goal with Phoenix, and as an artist in general, is to transport my audience into a world of whimsy and imagination while also inviting them to confront issues that exist in a real-life modern world.
