Petja

Petja is a young man, that has been released from prison and tries to find a Job. A filmteam captures his journey through job interviews and rejection. But that doesn´t make for an entertaining Documentary, so they dig in his past and find old idols and dreams. Will he follow those dreams or end where he began?

The short film Petja uses a documentary style to highlight the dissolving line between fiction and reality. It shows the need for entertainment of the audience and the pressure filmmakers can feel while making a "real" documentary. How far will they go to deliever a "good" story?

Are we living in an equal society, if someone with a criminal record doesn´t get the same opportunities? Being poor is expensive, but where does this lead you?

Director Biography - Leon Branko Čolić, Robin Bertram

Robin Bertram and Leon Branko Čolić grew up together in Bremen, Germany. Through writing short stories and later children books their interest in storytelling grew. At the same time they found filmmaking as another creative outlet. Over the years they made several short films and participated in film competitions and festivals. The most recent film "Petja" was funded by the Senator of Culture. Their current projects include a story-based podcast and another short.
