Ben Moran is a 22-year-old director from Meath, Ireland. He has written and directed 25+ short films and currently works as a freelance video editor.
I make films because I love actors. At the beginning of the pandemic, perhaps as a response to the theaters and film sets shutting down, and all my actor friends being forced to step away from the stages and the cameras, I wrote a script. A twelve page, dialogue driven, two-hander that would require two serious heavyweights to bring it to life.
A year and a half later, thanks to a brilliant cast and crew, Petition, starring Liam Murphy and Mark D'Aughton--the heavyweights--is finished. And the result is something I couldn't be more proud of. Petition is a film about the way men relate to each other. It is a film about Dublin. It is a film about the things we do to protect ourselves. The centerpiece is a six minute long take led by two incredible performances that each encapsulate everything that inspires me about the craft of the actor.
Thank you. I hope you enjoy.
