Allison Calloway, originally of South Texas, graduated from the MFA Film program at CUNY. Her thesis film A Placement was selected for USA Film Festival's International Short Film Competition and was broadcast on PBS through the series Frame of Mind. She also previously interned for Richard Linklater in Austin, TX.
After film school, I decided to adapt a public domain work into a no-budget film. In my search I found Persuasion and felt particularly connected to it. In the film, the characters use the antiquated language of the novel in comedic contrast with the modern setting.
