Perspective

Perspective is a journey in the nuances of the modern world and exploring how people can view the same situation very differently. Jerry/Jeri are the same person with the same story but in a different timeline. Nothing is different about what they say, how they say it or how they act. What is different is the way their friends perceive it. After all. It’s just a matter of perspective. Isn’t it?

Director Biography - Montesa

Underneath a heavy bombing raid during the war in the 80s, Montesa was born in Baghdad, Iraq. Montesa was eventually raised in London from the age of four. After living in Rome, Italy, he was ultimately sent to a school in London through his parent's professions. Montesa was encouraged to learn about all cultures and religions, and diversity was embraced with the freedom that he unknowingly had in front of him. He was taught Arabic at home and learned English via school alongside his wooden television during the 80s. Plenty of cartoons & 80's classic British comedy sitcoms became his favourite, but it was a particular VHS tape amongst his mother's selection that she recorded the 80s cult classic "Breakdance." Although Montesa was initially in awe of the dancing, it became his mother's choice to keep him occupied through cinema when he wasn't exploring the BMX.

As the years passed, the VHS collection grew, and more frequent trips were made to the video rental shops & passionately going through the shelves. Montesa enjoyed regular film nights with his family; the wars were ongoing, and closely tied losses were also frequent. Montesa reflects on these film nights as their escape from the harsh realities. Montesa's parents covered up through cinema, and the art of storytelling seed was nurtured. From an early age, the power of cinema through Montesa's eyes was captivating. Breaking News reports dominated the household between breaks, broadcasting the heavy bombings over the city once known as the city of peace Baghdad during another war.

Since then Montesa has flourished steadily within the film world by embracing each opportunity to finally showcase his abilities to give a voice to the voiceless.
