Perfectly Undone

WARNING: Contains themes of death, flashing images, and offensively pretentious references to German philosophy.

The first instalment of the Lost Soul series from Daniella DeVinter follows a perfectionist as she meets her undoing.
-----------------------------------
PERFECTLY UNDONE was judged the Overall Winner and Best Monologue at the Jesus College film contest 2021 (Cambridge University). Judges Jo McGrath (CCO, Eagle Eye Drama), Sonita Alleyne (OBE), fellow Christopher Burlinson, and screenwriter James McCarthy said of the film:

"A sophisticated, taut psychological thriller, beautifully written and performed. There were two delicious twists to this short film - just when you thought you knew where it was going it dragged you down a different path and left enough ambiguity to keep you guessing beyond the very last frame. At times it was unnerving, moving, funny, and thought-provoking - not easy to achieve in 3 minutes. Very original, surprising and tightly packaged, showing real promise as a short filmmaker."

Director Biography - Daniella DeVinter

Daniella DeVinter is an Anglo-Danish filmmaker, writer, and linguist based in Cambridge.

She took her bachelor’s in German at Oxford and, at the risk of losing her sanity, stayed on for a master's in Comparative Literature and Translation. She's now writing her PhD, a biography of the nutty German filmmaker named R. W. Fassbinder.

Daniella also writes crime dramas for major TV broadcasters, including Channel 4 and PBS (BEFORE WE DIE; PATIENCE). When she's not writing for or about films, she directs and produces them: award-winning shorts (PERFECTLY UNDONE; WRITER'S BLOCK), music videos (NOW EX), content for the mindfulness app Headspace, and a psychological horror due for release in 2024 (UNWELL WOMAN).

She speaks English, German, and Danish fluently; and French, Norwegian, and Swedish badly.
