Perfectly Frank

Perfectly Frank is a quirky, off beat, romance set in Southport 2019 with a heavy influence of musicals from the 50’s and 60’s.

Through our hero Franks eyes we see the world in a beautiful, magical and musical way. 18 year old Frank, suffers agoraphobia and has been raised by his Grandad on a diet of 50’s and 60’s musicals which they both adore. Frank faces a number of challenges and can only leave their house when holding his Grandads hand.

Now Grandad is sick Frank must find a way to leave the house alone. Could the blossoming romance between him and foul mouthed lovable chav Lily be the way he can do just that.

Director Statement

Perfectly Frank has been a project of love, friendship and determination. We have spent the last 18 months planning and shooting and have involved some of the most amazing people in the process to finally finish shooting the film in October. Our overall budget has been 20k (8k my wife and I put in ourselves and 12k raised in one year via gofundme) but don’t let this micro budget put you off, the film is all shot in 2K and the equipment hired to us free of charge from provision in Manchester amounted to over 200k, this little film has seriously expensive production values.

The film has taught us one fantastic thing, that the world is full to the brim of beautiful, kind supportive people - one musical number we did in Hesketh Park saw almost 500 extras turn up, in 50’s clothes all having pre learned a hand dance online! So many people gave their time and money to make this possible! Locally we gained the nickname of “the little film that can”!
