Pierce Cook, III hails from the land of grits, sweet tea, and pulled pork BBQ. Having started his worldly adventures in a small South Carolina town circa 1983, his love of movies evolved in a dark theater ten years later.
Since completing an undergraduate degree in Film from the University of South Carolina in 2005, Pierce has been honing his skills as a cinematographer and director on both coasts of the US and abroad. In the last two years Pierce has completed over a dozen commercials, a dozen short films, and a feature film. Of note, "Deadpool: The Musical" was honored at the 2017 Burbank Film Festival as the best New Media Short.
Pierce has lensed work for clients including Disney, Marvel, Google, Microsoft, and Samsung, and has been honored to film at revered industry institutions like Universal and Warner Brothers.
"Perfect Tea" was born out of a technical opportunity, and evolved into a concise letter of hope - a reminder of the subtle power of relationships. It celebrates diversity, what family can be, and a good cup of tea.
A group of industry professionals came together in short order to create this, and I could not be more pleased with how their giving spirits rewarded us. VJ has a remarkable presence and a soothing, textured voice. Justine was exactly the right measure of confidence and earthiness.
A special call out to Dan Martinez, who's original score and the process of creating it brought me much joy. The musical experience for this film will always be special to me, and the talented musicians at Budapest Scoring who performed for us deserve continued praise.
This film would not have been possible without the resourcefulness of Karis West, who was the spark that fed the flame. It was a great pleasure to use some of Panavisions industry leading technology and lenses, thanks to the generosity of Michael Cioni.
The words are those of Austin Herring, who deftly provided them on short notice and with a kind nod to some of my favored sentiments.
And finally, this picture exists because of the hard work of our crew. We love you. Thank you.
