"Kebe Iwara is a British Nigerian filmmaker based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, United Kingdom. After graduation from University of Surrey he worked part time as a photographer and subsequently shot a number of music videos. With no formal film school training and while working as a school teacher, his passion for visual storytelling evolved into a script and eventually the opportunity to direct his first film. Kebe has previously won awards for his photography and although late to arrive to the world of filmmaking his growing body of work is a testament to his talent. Kebe’s dream to make films that speak to his generation’s diasporic challenges. Kebe continues to add to his body of work as a Director/Writer and is currently working on his next short film"
I wrote and directed the short film 'Perdition' as a cathartic response to a deep personal regret. Is there atonement for a mistake that can not be undone? A regret that drags people into a self destructive spiral that feels overwhelming and with no opportunity for redemption. In this film each character reaches a point that they can no longer pretend and the road forward is perdition.
Keeping the production under £7000 was less a challenge this time around. A lot of the production and post production work was done in-house with a team I had worked with before. We were all better filmmakers since we last worked together and It shows in this film. We cast award winning actors along with immensely talented upcoming actors that delivered strong performances. I am really excited to continue my journey as a filmmaker and I've already begun work on my next film.
