The film (People of olives) talks about the great disaster that the people of the coastal region in Syria were exposed to, represented by the huge fire that affected many forests, mountains and homes, and caused severe damage to agricultural crops, especially the olive season, which is the main economic tributary for the people of the region.

Over the course of two years, the film depicts many distinguished characters who were affected by the fire, and follows with them the stages of their life development and how they faced the challenges and difficulties that resulted from this great disaster, until they rose again and the green color filled the place again.

The Syrian director: Ghosoun Al-Maddi
• Born in Damascus in 1987
• Graduate of the Faculty of Arts - Department of English Literature from the University of Damascus
• Diploma in educational qualification from the University of Damascus.
• A war and field correspondent, who covered many fronts of the Syrian war.
• Produced many documentaries, including:
2020 Directed by the film (A crutch of a homeland): It talks about a Syrian man who was completely paralyzed in his body as a result of the war, but he regained his health again, with details similar to a miracle.

2021 Directing the film (Breaking Dawn): It talks about the story of the city of Aleppo in northern Syria during the years of war that passed through it, through the accounts of the city’s people who lived the details of the war.

2022 Directing the film (Beautiful Patience): It talks about a Syrian young man who was seriously injured during the war, but his patience was stronger than his injury.

2023 Directing the documentary film (Sky's Neighbors): The film tells the story of the five-year siege of the ancient Aleppo Citadel during the Syrian war.

2024 Directing the documentary (half-completed): The film talks about a Syrian woman named (Jolan) who suffered from a physical disability since her childhood, which caused her to spend her entire life in an electric wheelchair. She also lost her parents at a young age, which made her live alone in a shelter for the elderly.
This woman got married and her dream came true after she gave birth to a child and began to hear the word “mama” as she had always dreamed, but her marriage did not last long, as her husband rejected the child because he had Down Syndrome and needed special care, which made this couple an exceptional case, complementing each other, so it was Each half needs its other half to be complete.
