Director Biography - Malak Alamari

Malak Alamari is a 24-year-old director from Sweden, currently studying film and TV production. With experience as a photographer, editor, and First Assistant Director (FAD) in student productions, she has now made her directorial debut with People Watching, an international production filmed in Lithuania. The film has already gained recognition, winning Best Film and Best Director at the Dalarnas Film Festival, and is now nominated for the prestigious November Film Festival, one of Sweden’s largest short film festivals.

Director Statement

As a director, my goal is to create films that go beyond entertainment and deeply resonate with audiences. I am passionate about exploring human psychology and real-life events, especially through the lens of drama. I believe that film has the power to shine a light on important social issues and spark meaningful conversations. In my work, I strive to craft stories that are both emotionally impactful and socially relevant, with the hope of inspiring positive change.
