The Sail Pensacola Film Festival showcases films about sailing, sailors, and the new technology of high-performance sailing. Based in charming Pensacola on the Pensacola Bay, festival attendees will be treated with abundant dining, beach, and water sport activities to fill their days when not spellbound by festival entries. In addition, film-makers will be enlighted by the on-water workshops covering the technology and methods involved in capturing boats and their crews while underway. The Pensacola Sailing Film Festival will be the epicenter of sailing film for years to come so join the fun on the inaugural event!

Each category winner will receive a $100 grant to be used for production of a future Sail Pensacola Film Festival entry.

1. Submission Rules:
* Eligibility: Films must be related to sailing, whether in a documentary or fictional format. Ensure that the film duration does not exceed 15 minutes.
* Original Work: Submissions must be original works created by the filmmakers. No plagiarism or unauthorized use of copyrighted material.
* Language and Subtitles: Films should be in English or have English subtitles.
* Technical Specifications: Provide films in high-resolution formats suitable for screening (e.g., MP4, MOV).
* Submission Fee: $25 per entry
2. Content Guidelines:
* Sailing Theme: Films should prominently feature sailing, sailors, boats, or related maritime elements.
* No Offensive Material: Avoid content that is offensive, discriminatory, or harmful.
* Rating: Specify if there are any age restrictions (e.g., PG, PG-13, or R-rated films).
3. Selection Process:
* Jury Selection: Films will be reviewed by a jury panel. Their decisions are final.
* Notification: Filmmakers will be notified of acceptance or rejection by January 15, 2025.
* Screening Rights: By submitting a film, filmmakers grant the festival the right to screen their work during the event.
4. Festival Logistics:
* Attendance: Filmmakers are encouraged to attend the festival.
* Q&A Sessions: Filmmakers may participate in Q&A sessions after their film screenings.
* Awards: Best Documentary, Best Fiction, Best of Festival, Audience Award Student Entry. Prizes: $100 grant to support entry at the next SPFF.
* Promotion: Filmmakers should promote their participation in the festival through social media and other channels.
5. General Terms:
* Liability: The festival organizers are not liable for any loss, damage, or theft of submitted materials.
* Publicity: Filmmakers grant permission for their film stills and promotional materials to be used for festival promotion.
