Director Statement

I went to a school where two of the teachers were convicted of sexually abusing boys over many years which fuels my anger and frustration that abuse can still be allowed to occur. As a group, we wanted to express our disgust at not just Harvey Weinstein's behaviour but also all the abusive behaviour prevalent throughout our society.

It is always the weakest ones who are singled out and it is soul destroying. From personal experience, I have seen the shell-shocked faces of victims wearing a 'blankness' of expression and it takes years, even decades for them to recover.

We wanted to portray the blank look of someone in a long-term abusive relationship where they become drained of emotion and feel powerless to break free. Abuse is mentally draining and when all energy is gone, what is left of a person?

From seeing this first hand, I know what this means and wanted to capture this aspect on film.

I hope you enjoy this and look forward to hearing from you.
