Private Project

Patriots

A teenager named Vlad lives in a family where his mother and grandmother are ardent patriots and supporters of the war in Ukraine. His father died in this war. Vlad becomes withdrawn and, being an opponent of the war, expresses his protest in an unusual way.

My film Patriots addresses important and timely topics that can provoke deep reflection and discussion among viewers. At the heart of the story is a family conflict and the personal struggle of a teenager. This narrative is not only politically significant but also emotionally rich, as it raises questions of identity, patriotism, war, and peace.

The film explores pressing social and political issues, such as the war in Ukraine and resistance to family beliefs. These themes are particularly relevant in Europe and resonate with a broad audience. They encourage contemplation about the impact of war on personal and family relationships.

The generational conflict is another key element of the film. The main character, Vlad, faces the radical views of his mother and grandmother, while he himself is opposed to the war. This universal conflict of values is understandable to an international audience and fosters broad discussion.

Vlad is a character who experiences deep inner turmoil, making the film an intense study of personal conflict. His journey of self-discovery and resistance to social and family norms is expressed through an unusual form of protest, adding artistic depth to the film. It is not only about political positions, but also about personal freedom and the courage to follow one's own path.

Despite the specific context of war, the themes of the film have international relevance. I am confident that it will be perceived as socially and emotionally relevant, and will inspire reflection on the consequences of war and patriotism.
