Patricia Mooney, VP of Crystal Pyramid Productions and Video Producer and Editor, has been a pioneer and influencer in San Diego video production since 1982. For over 40 years, she’s excelled as Producer, Editor, Sound Technician, Boom-Pole Operator, Voice Over, Still Photographer, Teleprompter Operator, Writer and Talent. She’s also served as CFO, Office Manager and Social Media Maven. Through her efforts, Crystal Pyramid Productions, San Diego’s longest-serving video production company, has enjoyed status at the top of search engine rankings ever since late 1990’s. Patty produced many award-winning educational videos that were the first of their genre including "Massage For Relaxation" (1985), "The Great Mountain Biking Video" (1987) and "Common Sense Self Defense for Women" (1985). In 1994, Patty co-produced and wrote the script then appeared in “Full Cycle: A World Odyssey” as one of the first seven mountain bikers to ride in the World's 1st Mt. Everest Mountain Bike Rally. She was the first female "underwater mountain biker," off the coast of Costa Rica (don’t worry, no coral was harmed), and the first woman to mountain bike inside the Turrialba Volcano. Patty is considered the “grandmother” of Extreme Sports videos. As an independent filmmaker and editor, she is focused on social issues including women’s rights, human rights and homelessness. She is currently editing an educational series called “Cannabis: The Story” that teaches mainstream viewers all aspects of this medicinal plant.
