Experiencing Interruptions?

Past Journeys Future Dreams

With 6 teenagers from asylum-seeker families settled in Lancashire we created and storyboarded a poetic short film giving insight into their personal journeys and future aspirations.
Produced in partnership with poet Amina Atiq, as part of a Lancashire Youth Challenge Cultural and Creative Arts Project, funded by Lancashire County Council, which aimed to use poetry and video to give teenagers from asylum-seeker families the opportunity to share (some) of their experiences and in the process make new friends.

Working with these 6 young people, poet Amina Atiq, DOP Jane Duckworth and Guy Christiansen from LYC on finding words and visuals that could share the common humanity in their experiences and dreams with a wide audience on video was a great privilige and also great fun.
