Born and raised in Hong Kong, Leah has been writing since she was 12, and she got into movies after watching Some Like It Hot for the first time soon after. She has long moved on from silly little stories set in middle school, to astoundingly, screenplays about awkward kids or the awkward adults who used to be them. She has just completed the Screenwriting MA at The London Film School, and Party of Four was her first foray into directing.
Initially an exploration of the “dinner scene” concept, Party of Four became a much more personal film about a night in the life of a dysfunctional family that realized that they were irrevocably broken. It’s sympathetic to the plight of an annoying teenage girl that feels insecure but superior, who is just trying to live through it all.
