Part Time Investigators

After losing his job, his car, and his girlfriend, the only thing that Pete wants to do is go home and sulk. But when he orders a ride home from an eccentric driver named Stanley, his day—and life—is turned upside down. Now, Pete finds himself thrust into a full-scale suburban scandal as Stanley recruits him to help track down a missing Pomeranian dog.

They're not cops. They're not even trained professionals. They are… Part Time Investigators.

Director Statement

Like most, if not all of the films I make, I have a screenplay with which I try my best to make into a film. But with this particular story there was no script, just an idea...just improv. No real foundation to look back at the end of each day and say "Okay, we got it, let's move on". The cast and crew dove into the world of Pete and Stanley not knowing exactly what was going to be said, and in a way that freed us from a lot of things. It allowed for spontaneity, and a unique instinctual way of acting. It took a life of its own and became what we see on screen. It required a certain comedic skill and timing, which all my cast had an abundance of, so I am very proud of what we achieved with how little we had. Even though we didn't have it written on paper, all of us knew the kind of story we wanted to tell. A story about friendship.
