The Idaho Underground Film Festival is a fun two day event. Last year we held The Idaho Underground Film Festival at a Drive-In. This year it will be in a traditional theatre.

The IUFF is sure to be packed as this is also a fundraiser for the drama departments and sports teams at the Local High Schools.. At least 50% of ticket sales goes back to these programs. They can make as much as 75% too. It's not about making money at this fest. Don't get us wrong we don't want to lose money because if we did we couldn't continue to do this. Our goal is simple. Help the local high schools and pack the theatre to see great Indy Films.

We are are looking for all types of movies. From rated G to NC-17 and everything in between. One minute movies to two hours. We are open to every type of movie. We want it to be as eclectic as possible. There is no restriction on when the movie was made.

We think we have cool programmers and we are looking for good stories. Low budget/no budget are pretty cool to us. We dont need named actors. But we don't mind if they are in your movie either.

We do want/need a DCP for the theatre. This way everything looks great on screen.

We are going to give out some cool awards. We don't want to pigeon hole the awards. We might give out best actress, best editing, best movie, best directing, best G movie, best R movie, best movie on a limited budget... Whatever. We will put some thought into this. Like the movies we will show, the awards will will be just as unique.

We are showing shorts and features. Any time length. We ask that you submit under a rating that would be given to your film.

We need a DCP.

  • i wasn't able to attend, but the 8-year-old star of our film was, since he and his family live in idaho. the film festival treated them royally! they even gave them free tickets so 6 other families who are friends of theirs could also attend! festival organizer Matt Williams made our young star feel very special, with a reception in the lobby. Matt was very good about communicating with me and with our actor's family. Matt even sent me a video clip afterward showing a bit of our film on the big screen. this is a very special festival, run by people who really care!
