Director Statement

With Paris ABC, a zero-budget,fiction short film shot documentary-style during different moments of the Covid-19 pandemic, I wanted to create an objective, unjudging look at three Chinese/Taiwanese girls living in the city in simultaneous time.

Through the three split screens, I wanted to convey the harsh loneliness and isolation of the pandemic, but also to bring together( while keeping apart) the differences between three girls that, for an outsider's superficial point of view, might look "the same", when in fact, they have completely different inner lives, sexualities, origins and personalities.

The banality of this single day in each of their lives, with no particular stakes or plot, was conceived as a way to simply stay with the characters and get closer to them, with the hope of feeling like we have been invited for a brief time into their intimate inner world.
