Amadeus Redha is an Iraqi-born writer based out of London. His first feature, Paradise By Way of Jordyn, placed in the top 2% of all eligible submissions in the 2021 BBC Writers Room competition (out of 5100+ submissions), and was shortlisted in the Netflix Screenwriters Fellowship.
As a Middle Eastern man that grew up in a marginalised community in London, he cares deeply about representation. His favourite genres are drama, sci-fi, and comedy, and he has a vested interest in creating inclusive films that tackle the lived realities of diverse people. Paradise By Way of Jordyn, for example, is about Black man who is forced to confront his traditional upbringing when he falls in love with a trans woman on his council estate.
He is currently working on several short films in the hopes of getting representation and pursuing a full-time career in writing.
