Director Biography - Guilherme Mesquita

Guilherme Mesquita, an editor from Portugal with a deep passion for storytelling, has worked on two feature films as an assistant editor, and in several short films, ranging from screenwriter to 1st AD. “Katty Xiomara’s Parachute Trip”, a short documentary film about an unexpected and inspiring fashion show set up on a former slaughterhouse, is his latest work.

"Katty Xiomara's Parachute Trip" is a story, first and foremost, about collaboration, be it from different artists, art styles, stories and places, and all the colour and inspiration that stems from it. For me, more than the protagonist and driving force, the fashion designer Katty Xiomara sets a gold standard of creative strength and uncompromising vision.

Katty is a renowned portuguese fashion designer, born in Venezuela. When she chose the derelict building of a former Porto slaughterhouse to showcase her latest collection, the extremely feminine and light, Miami and Art Déco-inspired “Parachute Trip”, Katty knew that she would need the help of an unexpected partnership. Aided by Circus Network, a team of street artists, to make her vision come to life, Katty would bring about the lightest and most delicate of her collections, the "Parachute Trip”, and her exploration on what it means to be feminine, with all of its confidence, contrast, and color.
